Kovalam is a beach town on the Arabian Sea in Kerala, a state in south India. KOVALAM BEACH. A world-famous beach of Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) city, Kovalam has been a favourite haunt of tourists since 1930s. Lovely coconut palms fringe the golden beach. A rocky promontory and three crescent beaches are the major attractions. Foreigners throng Ayurvedic parlours that have sprung up all over the place. There are also yoga and meditation centres. Kovalam was brought to the public eye by the Maharaja of Travancore.
